All eyes on the water

Galway will play host yet again to a major water sport event, with three events in one, starting with the PI Powerboat Grand Prix of Galway on the bay from Saturday 5 to Sunday 7 June, the start of the Around Ireland Powerboat Race on Monday 7 June and the P750 Challenge in the Bay from Saturday 12 to Sunday 3 June.

To celebrate, Galway will yet again host a major festival in the Race Village at Galway Harbour and in Salthill with free live music concerts, daily entertainment, bars, food and crafts.

Similar to the Volvo Ocean Race celebrations of last year, there will also be daily street theatre performers including Galway's own Macnas, food, craft and market stalls as well as a number of charity events taking place on the Docks.

Strictly The Rat Pack

Galway fans of The Rat Pack are in for a rare treat this weekend as the full 'Strictly The Rat Pack' show comes to Galway direct from the West End.

'Strictly The Rat Pack' is a celebration of the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr with all the trappings – a 14 piece big band including a full brass section and three top class lead singers. Louis Hoover is Sinatra, Mark Halliday is Martin and Ashley Campbell is Sammy Davis.

Galway's newest clubbing experience, Lemon Lounge is now open for business every Saturday night at the legendary Warwick Hotel in Salthill. Playing a refreshing blend of all the favourite party hits from the eighties, nineties and noughties, as well as more recent hits, Lemon Lounge DJs will keep you dancing all night long.

Great drinks promotions will be easy on the pocket and in the spacious Warwick Hotel revellers can't help but have a more relaxed clubbing experience.

Doors are open from 11pm every Saturday night and, for the month of May only, there's no admission fee before midnight and only €5 after.

So, for those looking for a more relaxed clubbing experience, the future's yellow, Lemon Yellow!
