Kila member to join Brendan Perry

Kila founding member Ronan O Snodaigh will be supporting Brendan Perry from Dead Can Dance in the Roisin Dubh on Friday 28 May.

A founding member of Kila, Ronan is an accomplished poet in both Irish and English. He is recognised for his unique technique of playing the bodhran, which has often been likened to Africa's talking drums and the Indian tablas.

Fr Ted star for Moycullen

Following its spectacular launch in early May, the monthly 'First Friday' Comedy Club at the CO-OP Moycullen continues this Bank Holiday weekend with another strong line-up on Friday 4 June. Stand-up comic, voice over artist, writer and actor, Joe Rooney has many strings to his huge and accomplished bow. As barfly Timmy from Killinaskully, he has become one of Ireland's most popular 'luadars' and the butt of many of Dan Clancy's jokes.

In Fr Ted, he played the unforgettable rebel priest Fr Damo, who uttered the memorable line 'Who do you prefer Blur or Oasis?' However, it is as a stand-up that his star truly shines.

John Donnellan and Danny Dowling's showcase night for new jokes, spoofs and sketches returns to the Róisín Dubh on Saturday, 29 May. With a stroke of genius and a tiny budget, John and Danny have figured out a way to get top quality comedians to play for free from around the world via the magic of Skype.

Edinburgh award winner Aindres De Staic will be appearing on the big screen as will the marvellous Jessica Delfino from New York.

Headlining on the night will be Michael Mee, who has been described by Time Out New York as 'Woody Allen with a Cork brogue' and merely 'Hilarious' by the Irish Times.
